While I haven't actually gotten to this yet, I did run over the existing
issues with one of the priorities "(no priority set)", "urgent", and
"bug" (there are no "critical" issues) and tried to imagine what would happen
if I applied http://wiki.darcs.net/DarcsWiki/BugTrackerIssueManagement. The
result is attached, in the form of a list of status codes and, for each
status code, the list of issues that should be changed to have that status.
Each issue is listed with its present priority, id, title, and status. Please
note that this is only a partial result, since new priorities would also have
to be assigned and also, in some cases, keywords/topics. I also suspect that
a few of these issues are actually resolved, but I need to look through
recent mails to detect that. Nevertheless, I would be grateful for any
comments to this, somewhat drastically changed, situation in our bug tracker,
should we choose to head in this direction.
I will look further into the issues with an eye to the coming release, but
although I am a bit uncertain about the contents of that release (I guess
that http://wiki.darcs.net/DarcsWiki/Roadmap is still what we are doing), I
am fairly sure that I will not find anything significant before the deadline
on 2008-December-15.
The list of issues is attached. The main headers are status values. Below each
status value are listed the issues that should be put into that status. For
example, these lines

indicate that I propose to give the three issues 1152, 1155, and 857 status
"need-info". The priority, id, title, and current status (which may be the
same as the proposed new status) are listed for each issue.
Following the list of lists of issues, a list of remaining issues, those
unresolved issues with less severe priority than "bug", are listed. These
also need to be reviewed, but I haven't gotten to it yet.
