I agree, with you in regard to "Tortoise Darcs".

It is just that I am not a big fan of the Tortoise explorer integrated
solution. 

Reasons:
1) Why do I need to have source control menus in my explorer when I don't
need it? 
        *Browsing my family photos is one example.
        *Slowing my explorer as well and consuming memory regardless of the
usage. Sounds like a virus. :(

2) Explorer is not cross platform (windows oriented), and that means
different interface for varies operation system.

Mea culpa; I assumed that with a name like "Tortoise Darcs", it would be
tightly integrated into the file manager (Windows Explorer).  I believe
that's how TortoiseSVN works... though not being a Windows nor SVN user,
I guess I'm making an assumption there, too :-)
