Actually, it should be enough to get latest hashed-storage and build with that. The bug is in there in unfold, 0.3.2 should have fixed that.
It's a sort of known problem, I have just been waiting whether it gets caught by someone else (sorry for keeping you in the dark about it, but I thought it would be an useful test of the coverage we are actually getting before the release). Btw., my strategy is to keep current darcs in ~/.cabal/bin which is first in my PATH, and I also have Debian-installed stable darcs in the system.
