Sorry about the lack of explanation with these patches, confusion when
trying to use --edit.
I think they should all go into the 2.3 release if possible. The "remove
unnecessary pattern signature" one fixes a build failure on GHC 6.8.2 -
I'm surprised noone else noticed.
