Applied, thanks! And I'm pleased to see that darcs applying a tag also optimises the repository (and not just creating one).
So we should get smaller contexts from now on. One post-hook we could implement for the gitit repo is to do a darcs changes --count --from-tag . and to just create a tag every N patches.
