for a
smarter darcs convert in http://bugs.darcs.net/issue1040
Please add yourself to its nosy list if you'd like to receive updates
about it. You can do this by creating a roundup account.
Thank you for the link Eric, not knowing anything about the internals
of darcs this seems like it would be a monumental undertaking - I'll
definitely watch for progress.
