I accidentally stumbled upon this trying to write the issue1609 test.
I can't reproduce this bug from your script with a recent darcs. It just
reports conflicts, no get_extra issues.
Oops, should have looked more carefully. It doesn't explicitly demand a
darcs-1 repo so doesn't fail with recent darcs that defaults to darcs-2.
It's also not named consistently with other tests - should be
failing-issue1610_...
