Hi,

I've just reviewed a couple of patches that were about bumping the hashed-storage dependency to pick up bugfixes in hashed-storage, so the actual meat of the review was to check the hashed-storage changes. That's fine, but I think it's worth noting that in some senses it's a bit pointless as a gatekeeping act, because if there's a new version of hashed-storage on hackage, a build of darcs might pick it up anyway without the dependency bump.

I can't think of any obvious good answer to this, although I guess one possibility would be to have strict dependencies on the hashed-storage version. I also don't think it's that big a deal as we can generally trust Petr to write sane code and to make major version bumps if need be. But it is a bit messy.
