I wouldn't be sure how to respond to that, however, as I'm operating
exclusively on the short-term level of giving folks what they think they want
(which isn't always what they really want), and not on the long-term wiser
level of thinking about what the consequences of this will be.
What if aliases began by outputting the command that they're actually
executing? so in this case, perhaps,
> darcs status
$ darcs whatsnew -sl
...
or shorter might be enough,
> darcs status
(whatsnew -sl)
...
-- maybe that would help educate users (help them explore) ? Or maybe
only for some aliases, or maybe for all commands...
