I solved it going to the hackage page and download the .tar.gz package, unpacking it and doing 'cabal install' from inside the resulting directory. The hackage page is here: http://hackage.haskell.org/package/darcs-beta HTH. It's worrying though that a regular 'cabal install' doesn't work. Josef
