Well they say that with a 29er you can ride over anything, so from that
point of view its cool, but I would wait until there is allot more spares
available for the 29er. Stuff still too expensive.

My opinion....

Subject: [DarknDirty] I have to ask: 29ers vs 26" MTB's

Any experience on 29ers?

Any good / bad opinions?

Nice summary; nice links: <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/29er_(bicycle)>
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/29er_(bicycle)

I'm quite surprised that there's a lot of recommendation to ride them from
around 5'5" and taller; I thought only the 6'5" crowd would really
benefit...

Personally I won't go for it just yet (still have a couple of GT 26" frames
left to brake... I mean RIDE) but I have a tall, strong buddy (recent ex
A-bunch roadie) looking a new bike; needing (in my opinion!) confidence
downhill and single track.

Gordon: Any experience?? The dude's even taller than you ...
