Sooo we got out there in a really festive mood... lotsa cookies, cake, bubblies and candles to celebrate Oupa Gerrit's Bday!!!! Yep he is just such an inspiration to all us folk @ D&D!!!!! So we got onto the dark trails.. spun around the quad loop.. cruised up to the spot where Doc normally takes a tumble and then hooked onto some interesting portals off Eric's Enchanment trail... wich included some needing to be ridden out wicked old singletrack... Cat-I entertained The Russian by performing a wicked a endo-diveroll and had some red stans to brag about afterwards..it was suggested that she should be spun till it seals.. hmm :-).we cruised under the highway and on the gnarly steep uphill grunt.. it seems that Oupa Gerrit decided to purchase some real estate aswell... OUCH... but all was well and we continued onto the ZZingletrack... lost the route slightly but we found it again... and cruised down a classic collection of interconecting Zzzingletracks!!!!...
The first speed zone "dedicated racing snake high HR zone" was taken by Mr Ten Napel himself who is in fine form from all his buttwhipping in the Duathlon series stuff (spotted him on tv doing it!!!) and we cruised down that wicked DH singletrack before the Ghost ride, which did not happen as the moon was reaally skimpy... Deekay's rear wheel spoke out and gave his ride a serious wobble... not sure if that played a roll in his lights out moment on the way to the birthday hill.... a slight knee graze and he almost seemed dissapointed that there was no blood... eish... So we get to brthday hill and Sing for Oupa Gerrit after he blew out candles and we all dug into Bubbly, Cupcakes... Real cakes and more, thanks so much Dee and Powergirl and Oupa Gerrit, it was awesome!!!! The night was beautifully warm and the stars looked great... So we cruise down look ma no breaks....I dunno if it was all the bubbly but we let oupa gerrit go first and he dropped us all like we were looking for parkin... serious grins at the end of that trail and off onto python singletrack where a few of us tried in vain to wheel-hug Oupa again... He gives a modest grin again :-) Tour-la Tar dice was off on a raging pace, JP was absolutely on fire... I think I hit an all new max HR trying to catch the man, but no luck... lotsa smiles as we recovered and cruised up Vetseun and Big Dipper on the way back,,,, And then we swung down cruiser for some last beeg shmileys!!! and cruised into the shopping centre just before 10pm Thanks everyone, it was an Absolute honour to ride with you's Oupa Gerrit, Hope you have your best "dirty" year ever ahead of you!!!
