Lesson in report writing 101 If you are having a hectic day and don't have time to write a report, the do the following: Ask 2 friends to write it for you, they didn't even had to be there! :-) Thanx Carine ;-) (for Chapter 2) Thanx to Daleen for writing the song and Chapter 3.
Here goes..... On the tune of the Banana Boat song? *grin* ____________________________________________ And here follows the Dark and Dirty ride report... The NU-ROUTE @ 25 September 2008 Chapter 1 Night-o, ni-ay-ay-o Thursday come and we wan' go ride Night, we say, thursday night! Thursday come and we wan' go ride Ride al night on my mountain bike! (Thursday come and we wan' go ride) Chase my buddy up a single track! (Thursday come and we wan' go home) Come, Mr. Hardy Mon, lead us through the darkness (Thursday come and we wan' go ride) Come, Mr. Hardy Mon, we cant't wait any longer (Thursday come and we wan' go ride) It's single track, jeep track no track BUNCH! (Thursday come and we wan' go ride) It's single track, jeep track DOWNHILL RUSH! (Thursday come and we wan' go ride) Night-o, ni-ay-ay-o Thursday come and we wan' go ride Night, he say, thursday night Thursday come and we wan' go ride!!! Chapter 2 it was a dark and stormy night ... 1 by 1 the knightriders appeared at the moomall for their weekly endorphin-fix. The air was thick with expectation and excitement: it was the big-grin downhill-route again. they would ride old almost-forgotten favourites like end of the world and gauntlet, chase each other up fort klapperkop with the citylights far below them, and then the big-grin-downhill would wait for them ... with a sweet-sweet singletrack afterwards ... but wait, theres more: you get to do ALL OF THIS with gauteng's coolest crowd. life surely is good. Chapter 3 ....but then it got even better....after the adrenalin-rush-nearly-endo-awesome-downhill-track we re-assemble at the bottom....and as Hardy said before...we really appreciated a lot of things.....the track, our bikes, and being able to get down there in one piece.... *grin* so at this stage the the ride report writer is nominated and can you believe it....there is a tie?!? So I offered to "race" Eric to determine the sole winner....but at last...the gentlemen he is....he offered that we share the writing responsibilities....so....that is why.....I will cover the second part of this ride report..... So we headed back...cruising...and then we hit the "breathing-buddy" section...There is some folk living next to the road, and we just kept a tight little group...From there back via the Gauntlet....and the good old memories just kept coming! The fun we had chasing each other out of there. Hardy had a little "twist-in-the-tail" section - and we hit a single track that we can only call "wiggles & squiggles"? Back on the PVR road, we had a quick chase of the single track leading to the air force base wall - hey what a awesome little single track! At the top - Hardy decided that was too much fun - so we chased each other down the track again *big big smile*At the bottom there we were more out of breath from chasing down the single track than up?! We headed back in the direction of the "Moo-centre", but it was only just after 21:00, and Q.T. suggested we hit our most favourite single track down to the "Moo-centre"...the cruiser! No complaints from anyone - who can ever say NO to ride that shweeeet little singletrack! so we took a little detour - and had a little VO2-Max wall chase, we then headed in the direction of the railway line and then realised we cannot go up Cornwall Hill - so we hit old big dipper ......that caused me a big problem when I broke my chain :/ But luckely the guys fixed it in no time - thanks guys! And then the GREAT-FINALE....the cruiser!!! We bombed down there and before we know it....the ride was coming to an end? Can it be? It was such a JOL!! We covered about 34km, no known crashes....one mechanical..... AWESOME STUFFS!! The Spur was kind enough to give us a table....we had some beers, hot choclate....some burgers some chips...and watched some very funny characters trying to tame the Viking Obstacle Course......you had to be there to appreciate it *giggle* Thanks guys and girls! It was a great night out! Like Hardy always say.... It was an honour sharing the dirt with yous:) THE END --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "DarkAndDirty" group.
