I know what you did last night...... So 10 of us rounded up at the moo mall with our dancin shoes on, ready to Rock&Roll... Eric gave us a quick rundown of things and we rolled outa there even though there were some brilliant sparkies lightening up the sky.... God was taking photograhs...and we were smiling :-).... so we cruise up and along the cruiser then right down Vetseun... that is the interest thing about sweepin... you see a lotta things happening from the back..(that is, when you can see through the dust :-) ... I noticed someone go hrizontal at the top part of Vetseun... aaaah Quintin is volunteering to write the report???.... so we carryon bombin all the way down and in the last past where the footpaths get lekker wavy bits where you can really lean your bike into it.. so we pass and greet a pedestrian, ... two seconds later..sudenly I am airborn and slamdunk over the trail... the pedestrian is hosing himself... eisch, now I see the rock that had my front wheel stop dead...grab my bike and go but not quick enough... cos q.t. is lookin back, grinning at me while asking what happened??? havin drawn first blood, hence here I am writing the report... hehehehee a few light drops of rain begin to fall for a few seconds...
As part of the technical skills of this ride, we start to climb beegdipper right from that humptydumpty bits in the begginin... lotsa giggles in the dark...Eric gives us the drill about Babypowder hill... eish ... Quintin and I are at the back and as we go over the top... suddenly his metal steed protests and convinces him to execute a dusty, crashing rolling dismount.. Airtime ........8/10 Head shots..5/10 Body shots..7/10 Bike shots..4/10 Eish I skrik as this is mos the DH R.U.S.H.... but he is up quickly... holdin his wrist like I held mine that time I broke it...but he is still smiling... unfortunately his brake lever has broken off... "what's those lights over there.." he asks..."The MooMall" I answer... "I go there" his reply... breakdancing on a rock&roll night is definitely not a good idea... so we escourt the dusty yet grinning rider and continue on our root.... first speed zone is a tough uphill one.... I pass the front bunch at the perfect moment and charge all the way up with Nico right on my heels.... HRMAX...eisch... some riders led an early lead as they got to experience the light at the end of the tunnel....yeeehaaa.. and down the mineshaft we flew, blair witch was nice and chatty.. as was Roeters root (next to St Georges)... Heartbreak ridge was a serious workout as usual, had Nico on my tail all the way to the top... told everyone that he was just being too polite not to pass me..... we did the other dipp with a little quad busta and then eric led us down the SMUTS Rocky DH to everyones delight... Werner (Swart -not Koekemoer;-) almost lost his spare tube but managed to re-locate it.... we spotted a cat in the felt... he was praying that these strange lights would go away... so we did ... right up that.. for lack of a better word ...BLIKSEM little climb and now I was on Nico's tail... hanging in there and near the top, the man hit a nitro button and launched away like an MX bike.....eisch!!!!.... see toldya's...so we cruise down into "look-ma-no-brakes" singletrack and then have a wicked ghost ride down python which Oupa gert showed off by riding the last bits of the trail on his front wheel.... I stole tour-le-tar as the others played roadie tactics at the back and we cruised the railway line, having an unreal eeerie black beauty sighting..... some more wicked singletrack and VO2MAX which was taken by Boe.... yeah she whipped butt!!! and cruised back as light spits of rain flicked about through the darkness. We got back just intime to still get 2 rounds of beer and hotchocolate while chattin about noon2moon plans and other exciting stuff.
