It will be Team Cyanosis' second Portugal XPD race as the team finished the 2007 race in a very respectable fifth place overall. Cyanosis' 2008 goal is to race hard for a podium spot securing qualification for the Adventure Racing World Championships in 2009. The race has 50 teams from 20 countries who have already confirmed they will be present in the longest adventure race ever to be held in Portugal, which will run from the 30th of November to the 4th of December. Another new thing in the race this year, which will be 100 hours long, 19 hours longer than last years race, is the creation of spectator zones, from where it will be possible to accompany the race and see the teams going by. The race will be broadcast live on the race website throughout the competition.
