About last night.
"Are we going to get wet tonight?" Kobus, one of the 1st timers ask... a flash of lightning in the southern sky.... "Maybe, but we not going far.." I say as everyone congregates for the start of the SINGLETRACK minded ride.... so me, Deekay, Frequent Flyer, Mr Stealth, Mummy, Oupa Gerrit, PowerGirl, Kobus, some spruit riders from jozi...Bernard, Lammie and Gerhard, headed out into the fading light. Cruiser is sooo lekker with the bushes growing over the trails now and Powergirl gave her spare handlebar light to Kobus as his headlight was n bietjie flou... So we cruise along the top into Beeg dipper and swing onto that last juicy bit of Vetseun...(yepp you guessed it singletrack since the start of cruiser) and one of the jozi guys provided regular entertainment by not getting his feet out of his cnew cleats on numerous occasions...fall out boy? Anyways soo after wash and go we stopped on the brigde over a pumping river and contemplated the weather... and so it was decided that none of our metal steeds were afraid of water... they were however slighty skittish about some of those spectacular sparkles in the sky... this was especially evident as some steeds occasionaly scuttled off the trails at various points... releasing gasps of laughs... We swung our route toward the north as we were fast becoming riders of the storm... cruising various Singletracks and even had a VO2max which was taken by Frequent Flyer (apparently he is getting his fitness up to do Sabie x with Vlam!!) and we dodged some Blackwing plover fledglings which were soooo cute... saw a rabbit or too and "end of the world' singletrack got lotsa applause. We did dark side of the moon and saw a snake... a rooi lippy and and then we went up that rough rocky climb testing everyones techie skillz and more singletrack down again... eventually headed back to the moo mall... Just as we approach the entrace, some go on the tar arounfd the circle... Oupa Gerrit takes the single track on the right and a few of us hop on the middle single track... i see some young school dudes pointing and laughing at all the lights.. they don't here me approachin so I slow right down and then ask nicely if they can let me pass..... Bliksem the blokes eyes and all his buddies went like saucers and they jumped outa the way screamin like girls.... that was weirdly hilarious. And then we hit the spur afterwards for beers, hot choccies and chow.
