O.k.. so I didn't even get one guess... but even having the answer... i tried a few googles... and didn't get much other than a few text refeneces... ...(life before google??)
anyway the story goes... The first Flight of the Aviette - July 1921 Competeing for the 10,000 francs Peugeot Prize, Gabriel Poulain has, after a lot of experiment, succeeded in raising himself from the ground by auto propulsion on an 'aviette' or little bicycle equiped with wings. With an estimated take off speed of 25 Miles per hour on his 37,5 pound machine he reached a height of 38,5 feet. Then wings apparently encountered considerable resistance and the aviator-cyclist had to make tremendous efforts. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "DarkAndDirty" group.
