saturday morning roundup the tandem (with a LOT of other riders) left from trouthaven this morning and is in stettyns. that's the final hike&bike section, once through there, it's over the mountain and on to diemersfontein where tim finished so long ago. mike's knee is haunting him, it's better when they ride, but stettyns is not ridable (glen can ride almost anything, so if he thinks it's not ridable, then it most probably is not) both of them know the way well, so at least that should help.
doug and fiona (the bug-adventure-chickie) slept in montagu, they're riding on to trouthaven today, and expected to finish tomorrow night. i don't know where the other guys are (derek, estelle, errol, sean, bret) - most likely also in the montaguy area on their way to trouthaven, but don't know. on a whole different level of madness, the triathletes (some of them finished the cycleride last night) started the paddle this morning. it's called the one-stop berg. the berg river canoe marathon is about 240 kays, i think, and usually done over 4 days. they're doing it in two days. andrew barnes is in a k1 (he's well-rested, being in for almost a week already) the race-organiser is in a k2 with dave barr (the aussie whose on honeymoon here in SA), and ugene and trever (adventure racers, ugene organise a lot of stuff down in cape town) are in a k2. good luck to these crazy paddlers - and please send good vibes to my friends who are still out there! c. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "DarkAndDirty" group.
