Hi Everybody, So about last night... well I was a little late after shooting past Eric to fetch the radios, the man is still in a bit of pain after last weeks high speed crash... eish.. but as he said so bravely "Well after so much riding in the dark, it is bound to happen at sometime!"... eish hope those ribs aren't broken man!!!... <more about this from Deekay who promised to write about it..> so I get to the moomall and there are 9 other riders ready to take on the night...
So after some discussion about the route, Stealth, Deekay, Dash, Powergirl, Mummy, STAN, Roger, Leon, me and D&D virgin for the night..Steven..(the Brit) So we cruise through PVR islands and make our way down end of the world and rocket down gauntlet and then all the way towards Klapperkop which loomed in the distance. Through the cattle dip and rolled up those jeep tracks, up that lekker singletrack and through pigs corridor and cruised up to the tar road. Stealth was our awesome volunteer sweeper for the night and was really in synch, if I looked back he would just pop out so i could see the glotube and we kept a good pace cruisin... The first speed zone for the night stealth took and was accused of getting a head start... he waited and waited, but no-one came...? ... anyway we enjoyed the "Nice from far, far from Nice" City skyline and speedzone 2 was revved up and Steven took the honors!!!.. we get to the Downhill course and there is much hesitation... and I admit that I walk most of it... So why do we do it... Leon asks.... aaahm... well cos its there dude.. the course was really washed out making it a lot more rider friendly and we made our way down still having great appreciation for the death defying downhillers and there amazing skills!!!... hehhe what do they say... its only death defying if you live... So we cruise back and schwing through some of those lekker singletracks..some of the new guys ask why we can't do this everynight...we go and take on Dark Side of the Moon singletrack.. man that is so schweet... and up that otherside.... Man it was a great evening to be out... its always such a fresh feeling if you have missed a ride or two... we climbed end of the world and sneaked past the graveyard and pvr island hopped all the way back to the moomall... we were gonna throw in some xtra singletrack and gnarly downhills... but the beers were calling and we all went for hot chocies, beershey Eric, I had one for you too man!!! :-) and a plate of chips... and chatted about Elbrus, K2, Epic, some local shops crap bike service, klip river rapids, bull of africa, kickboxing and other stuffs..
