Hi Jacques, I used Energiser Waterproof torches with a 35mm 20W down light (if you rip out the bulb and its unit, then a 35mm down light fit perfectly in there!). While you are riding it keeps itself cool and did not melt. When I however stopped for a while fixing a flat and forgot to switch off my light, it got a bit of damage... I rode with it for a few years before I melted it earlier this year at Groenkloof. I guess the same principle will apply for the PVC 50mm light.
