Hey Waaaasup Folks, So yesterday I took our little doggie Holly for a walk... or lets say, I sat on my bike and she pulled me down the road to ecstacy park.. so while we are dicing each other around the park.. a laaitie pitches up on his mtb and noticing my 2004 Sabie classic t-shirt asks if I am racing it at the end of the month.. he tells me about the last XC race and how fast Burry is.... he is quite an inspired youngster
So I ask him if he has a headlamp and if he wants to join us in the dark.. his eyes light up so much that i reckon he might not even need a headlamp.. he has seen our light trails on the odd occasion and wondered.... so the first thing he asks is.. "how much does it cost?"... duh!!!.. so young and already so conditioned by a world were everything Cost$ $omething and everything is profit driven... poor soul.. Luckily my father, without knowing it, but through his endless Christian devotion, taught me much of the lesson of "Bankruptcy of pocket vs bankruptcy of soul". You don't have to reserve your giving by what you will receive. So i tell him there is no charge.. a hint of confusion flickers in his eyes.. followed by a look of "can it be that simple???" Well yes it is.. this is Dark and Dirty... No Charge.. you like to ride?.. all you got to do is show up... It has been a fantastic journey the past 5 years and in an ever changing social riding group where the awesome dirt trails continue to bring smiles and make you fall in love with MTBing ... and singletracks ;-) over and over again... We have a great base of fantastic "Trail Meisters" who are really awesome in not only giving freely of their own efforts by volunteering to lead rides, but also understanding and applying the safety and social principles that is the magical essence of what Dark and Dirty is all about.
