i would think yes. i rode with semi-slicks (with panniers on the bike) on the grean glen way, which includes some of the best singletrack i've seen - managed ok with the semi-slicks, so slicks should be ok for gravel road like that of e.g. the first 50 kays of the blue moon MTB event last weekend ... sandy patches or mudmight be interesting.
