I was shocked yesterday when I heard the tragic news. Kept hoping that it
was a mistake and wishing it was not so.

Reminded how fragile our lives really are, and the gift we are given every
day.

Hans (Wollies) was a great guy and will be well missed. I remember when he
first started riding with us. He was new to the sport.

He always had his pack on, full of tools and first aid to mend riders or
bikes. And also the array of various energy bars that Leticia bought him to
try out.

I remember Wollies, Leticia and the girls at one of the Knobbly camps. What
an awesome close family. And no matter what the challenge, Wollies was
never afraid to try.

He was quite determined and really enjoyed himself. We raced together as a
D&D team at 10hour Noon2Moon one year and towards the end, when Bennie and I
were taking shots from racing hard, Wollies was as Strong as ever. We took 4
th place overall (with over 100 teams) and were 2nd in our category. It was
a great race with even greater sportsmanship.

Yesterday I also came across this quote, and contemplate its meaning, a
little deeper.

“We are, all of us, molded and re-molded by those who have loved us, and
though that love may pass

We remain none the less their work – a work that very likely they do not
recognise, and which is never exactly

What they intended.” – Anonymous

Our Prayers go out for Hans, Leticia and children. And for all those touched
by tragedy.
