About last night.**** So having accepted Oupa’s invite for the ride last night I was very excited. It has been a while and I have been wanting to test my Squirrel Burner light from Clint-Roadie-Ninja (who led last weeks ride.. hey report dudes?) for sometime now...****
** ** At the parking lot it felt crisp and it became obvious that we were the only brave souls for the nights journey. Always a privilege to ride with Oupa, he is a REAL LEGEND!!! We cruised through PVR and chatted away then shot down End of the world (the original singletrack trail) not the jeep track... that rocky trench halfway down is now almost rideable again J **** ** ** We hit that other single track which eventually flowed into “Dark Side of the Moon” Single track... wow man it has been such a looong time since we have ridden this one. Tons of fun, turns and little rocky bits to keep ya smiling... and ofcourse the obligatory Pink Floyd song playing in mind J**** ** ** “You lock the door And throw away the key There's someone in my head but it's not me And if the cloud bursts thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon”**** ** ** So Oupa drags my butt up the hill and we cruise the airbase singletracks and Oupa conquers an old kneescraping demon. We cruised down River road and took Botha through Irene and I had to work hard to try keep up with Oupa up Nelmapius. We swung down the “Bunny-Hop Alley” for some extra fun under the crispy clear night of a thousand stars.**** ** ** Oupa had been checking the temp through out he ride and from a 7,5 degree start it went up to an 8.4 and then eventually to a 6.5 near the end.. fabulous weather and a pleasure to be out there.**** As Oupa commented, not bad weather only bad gear... and being adventure racers... go quickly get to know what is good gear to make GREAT Weather J** ** ** ** Thanks Roadie-Ninja the Squirrel Burners absolutely ROCK DUDE!**** ** ** We wrapped the journey up just after nine, just under 30km or SHMILEAGE...
