A good headlamp will also get you through. Ie not a bike light specifically,
but a strong head torch.

Hi Craig,

Sorry about the light, can’t help there, but I am going for the ride. In good
faith that there will be one :)

Hi there

Is there going to be a ride tonight? I am very keen to join but don't have a
front light, does anyone have a spare one I could use tonight to try out the
night ride?

Really keen to join!

Please let me know, my cell number is 082 935 8887.

Regards

Craig

Hi There DnD folk,

Running on the beach after work I felt very bad, forgot to do last week’s ride
report, so here goes....

First ride of the month is always an intro ride, so we gathered at the Irene
Village Mall at 19:00 for a lekker laid back ride. Well as DnD goes there is
always a surprise or two and a rabbit in the hat. Our rabbit for the night was
Bruce, our two legged friend, equipped with apparatus we have not seen for a
while, tekkies. Oh yes the age old question of evolution was debated again
without anybody noticing, we were having too much fun.

We set off under leadership of yours truly, and as I really didn’t remember
where to ride to we all appreciated the guidance of Oupa Gerrit. We made our
way to Ecstasy Park and did stuff you do in Ecstasy Park, you know have fun.
Tekkie machine was keeping good speed and the peoples of the the big rubber
wheels knew that the tribe of two legged ones sent out their purest specimen
for a stroll in the dark. Meandering to the big dump and then doing python and
nohtyp (that is python in reverse for the tired ones) we slowly made our way to
quad buster.

In our hearts we knew the chips were down when Bruce asked if this would be a
speed zone, surely the wheel would be stronger than the tekkie. For a moment
the crickets stopped cricketing, the frogs sat up in anticipation and the bats
elevated themselves for a better view point. Tortoise vs hare, Obama vs
Romney, Otocyn megalotis vs three legged Lepus capensis (europaeus), Alien vs
Zombie, TEKKIE vs WHEEL. Well not much to report on, evolution was reversed,
when the wheels opened their eyes tekkie was halfway up quad buster and after a
chase in vain we found Bruce smiling and on top.

To make wheel feel better tekkie headed home and we happily cruised the long
way round back to the the mall. What a treat to be riding with Bruce and to be
out on a lovely summer night with friends.

So if you can’t join me for a jog on Nahoon beach after work (sorry did I say
that again...) get your backside on a saddle and go ride with DnD on Thursday
evening! Ride starts at 19:00 at the Irene Village Mall, be there or be square
:)

Morning Peoples of the night,

Due to a lack of internet skills (amongst others) I don’t know how to post the
ride report on the website, somebody please help out!!! Here is the report
anyways:

After last week’s disappointment of sitting in the Spur with a cold milk in the
hand looking at rain it was great to be greeted by a lovely spring evening and
8 fellow riders of the dark side. After quick deliberation Nico was appointed
as ride master and Oupa Gert as Sweeper and off we went. Nico hit the cruise
button on his bike and in the absence of virgins it the pace was brisk, first
we headed down next to the wall of Cornwall Hill Estate over rocks, slote and
with big smiles the tone was set. Discussion raged fiercely at this point
covering topics ranging from single track on the dark side of the moon to
whether or not the Bat-Eared Fox, Otocyn megalotis, would be able to outrun a
three legged Cape Hare, Lepus capensis (europaeus).

On a sad not we had to do a steep climb and saw Rietvlei Nature Reserve was
engulfed in flames, hopefully just a controlled fire..... Next we set off
again through blair witch road (I’m not really sure about all the trail names,
so please excuses. Latin names of animals mentioned in previous paragraph are
however accurate) and taking this at a brisk pace made it more fun than ever.
Then we headed down a very pleasant and fast jeep track that looked fairly
familiar, but going at pace I really didn’t have a lot of time to figure out
where we were. This was followed by an awesome single track down the hill with
a couple of rocks in it (holy trail?) and the smiles were broadening at every
second. Nobody really cared how the three legged Lepus capensis (europaeus)
lost his leg or if this was indeed covered by his medical aid.

So then it happened, why am I writing this report? Yes in the modern day
democratic society the masses rule, and having to pump my slow puncture tyre I
was elected to be the report writer. Well I duly punished them “friends” a few
kilometres down the road by getting a proper puncture and making everybody
wait. We coasted home doing the Python in reverse and like ex-AA members
smelling beer he trapped to get to the SPUR in time for another cold glass of
milk and to get into the Spur before the rain drops started falling.

Awesome ride and big thanks to Nico for leading., all in all we were out for
about 1.5 – 2 hours and did just under 30km.

This morning a couple of questions did however dwindle in my head:

1. How is it possible that one ride can be such fun!!!

2. How do you feel sitting at your desk this morning if you were not one
of the privileged 9 happy riders?

3. Can the Otocyn megalotis actually beat a three legged Lepus capensis
(europaeus)?

See you all next week for more fun without the sun!!!!!

Hi Guys and Gals,

I am sorry that I am asking this of you, but I really want that 29er… J

I have a 2011 Silverback Spectra that I want to sell to be able to afford the
29er that I have been dreaming about.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and as you will see on the ad I have
said that you can call Cycle Mania who services the bike to vouch for and it is
standing in their shop so it can be viewed any time.

Here is the link to the ad if you would like to check it out.

If you know of anyone looking for a great bike but can’t afford to pay a new
bike price then this is perfect for them.

If you guys and gals can help me I would really appreciate it!!!!

THANKS!

Kind regards,
