About…… last night…. By the time you read this, you will probably be sitting in your office. A snug cuppa coffee and some ordinary office chit chat to get your day going. That is, of course if you were not one of the fortunate to be at last night’s Dark and Dirty intro ride.
There we were, a band of seven brothers stoking up our iron horses, we headed off to the nearest singletrack. Cruiser was lekker, albeit a bit scratchy… the sweetness was still there… Kooo-kneeee-cheee-waaaaa we tried to get some jap chat outa Mummy but he just gazed at us in a sort enlightened mellow way…. Later he disclosed it to be sleep deprivation as his body clock was still on GMT+9 . Big Dipper also had a few scratchy spots but sweet as ever, even a new dip eroding away for excitement… that small pillar rock in the path got a bit of adrenalin pumpin… After the road, the otherside down to where we hooked up on the bottom of vetseun was “wille as die wildtuin” We loved it. Python was just smooth and Stealth agreed that the path has slowly crept away from the red rock. Up Limbo lane was nice and frikkin woof, a trail rumoured to have blackend one riders big toe for 6 months was also fun, although it seems a lot of chicken side trails over the small bitey technical bits. There was a brief discussion about “the trail that Eric shall name” and the fact that Eric still hasn’t named it yet… and perhaps an apt name could be the “constellation of Eric”… something to do with falling so hard you see stars…..later we had a low flyover of some boeing…probably on its way to a certain wedding…. Batman tunnel was open on the right, blairwitch a nice treat and then Shabeen Queen which Rudolph crowned for the night. Some old alternatives on the way back including “die ou paai-tjie maar net regs van hom” was a lekker treat.. even the minor moments of bushwhack…. Added to the breath of adventure as old trails we rediscovered and new trails we left our fat tyre imprints of delight. And towards the end I was once again filled with a nostalgic parallel of Ray Bradbury, who passed away last year, wrote a very interesting scifi story called The Pedestrian (1951) about a year not too far off (2053) …google it... and for the moment I am satisfied that this night I was not one of those in the dull glow houses. And in true D&D style.... I was dirt free :-) Thank you all, it was an honour to ride with all of you. You make the ride, without all of you, we would not be able to go and explore such amazing trails. singletrack dreams await me now... :-) l8r hardy. lol ..lst laugh...i just heard on the radio about this guy who says he owes his life to Justin Bieber... serious...apparently he was in a COMA for a few months, until one day, the nurse put on a Bieber song on the radio...... so the dude just had to get up to turn it off.... lol Ok last one... @Rudolph the website for information on Tshwane AR club is www.tshwane.wordpress.com..... some buzz talk about the race Willem is organising for later this year..... @Willem.... we wanna know.. are there any Crocodiles in Dundee??? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "DarkAndDirty" group.
