Okay, I admit it: I certainly earned the right to write the ride report! Five riders turned up for the Intro ride on June 6 with the weather still mild. Xtacy Park was enjoyed with no incident and that was followed by Supertube which was blocked by new heaps of dirt just before Ezekiels's Drop-off. A short bumpy ride through the veld brought us to the mound with the (in)famous drop-off.
I went first, not heeding Francois' warning to keep left and was surprised by the step in the drop-off which caused a sudden acceleration and by my rear break which should have been adjusted before the ride. Unlike Ezekiel who crashed into the opposite mound, I took a dive into the fine dust and hidden stones resulting in a few leaks of human Stans immediately and a black eye and blue thigh later on. But Night Knights are tough and we went on to do the rest of Supertube, Wash-'n-go, Python, speedzone to the tar road, Eric's Trail, down to and through Bat Tunnel, Blairwitch Forest, Shebeen Queen and via the bottom part of Mieliemuur back to the Moo Mall for 27 kilometers of smilage.
