If you ever wondered about the route for the Dirt Flirt, here is the naked
truth: Whatever the trailmeister feels like! I had a route in mind: Head
out South-West doing Pierre van Ryneveld Island hopping, down the VO max
wall, next to the railway line, Wash-'n-Go, Quad buster, Holy Trail,
Freakin Woof, Bat Tunnel, up Mineshaft and back via Mieliemuur.

Only problem was that to the South-West a nice electric storm was in
progress and while rain can be handled, I, along with a number of riders
who informed me so, am not so fond of lightning. So I decided to do the
ride the other way round and the twenty riders set off to the Mieliemuur.
In the end it turned out to be a good decision. We only encountered a few
drops of rain and the clouds had lifted and the moon shining by the time we
returned to the Moo Mall.

An unfortunate incident involving a rock hiding in the grass got me
nominated to write the ride report. Now where are all the other ride
reports we were promised after similar incidents on previous rides? And the
one Juan insisted he did write?

All in all we had a very good ride with some newbies perhaps biting off a
little more than they could comfortably chew. Newbies, however, are always
welcome; especially when we do the Intro ride which is the first ride of
the month.

I am told that we covered about 31 km and it was enjoyed by most, if not
all :)

Oupa Gert.
