Hello, The installation instructions about Debian are a little outdated since the release of Jessie.
The paragraph should be: ======= (Of course) there is a darktable package in the Debian repositories. The current stable version Jessie still has darktable 1.4.2 packaged, but version 1.6.8 is available through the backports. This is also what already landed in Stretch.
