Do you mean that you did a commit on github itself, via web-ui?
If yes, the you need to update your local master branch
(assuming you made the change in master branch)

$ git fetch --all -p   # fetches everything from all the remotes
configured in .git/config
$ git rebase origin/master master  # update local master branch
against the master branch of your repo clone

But i would strongly suggest reading https://git-scm.com/doc
git is really powerful, it takes time to understand it.
