There was a bug before 2.2.0rc1 that old xmp sidecar files could not be
loaded. These sidecar files are used for noise profiling, so you should
do your profiling with latest version.
I recalculated the noise profiles using a more recent version of
darktable which I built from github sources. The new results look much
more reasonable now! I will open a ticket and upload my results later.
