Note that liquify does produce artifacts as soon as the strength of a
node is bigger than the node itself. That is, if the strength arrow in
a simple circle node goes outside the node. I would say this is
inherent to the liquify module.

Is that your case?

In any case, please open a ticket on Redmine and file a reproducer (RAW
+ xmp) if you want us to have a look.
