Andreas, Thank you for your insight. However, if you see the start of the thread, I originally only used the darktable 2.4.2 package from PPA and there were no lens data being accessed leading me to assume that there was no lensfun attached to the distribution of darktable 2.4.2 when picked up via PPA. So if you are correct, then there is indeed an issue with DT 2.4.2 since it is not yielding lens correction data, no dropdown list.
