Hi all,

I just want to let you know that I finally manage to get my "old" R9 270X (Sea Island) AMD graphic card working with dt and opencl.
Steps :
1- install 18.40 driver version with "-y --opencl=legacy --headless" switchs
2- set GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1

Now you have something "almost" working, except that it produce weird artefacts in the bottom of images (it's a driver bug, some other programs produce artefacts too). And now the strange trick : use "-d perf" switch with darktable...

3- "GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1 darktable -d perf" is working like a charm, and I've just saved 150€ :)

The question is WHY ? What is doing dt with that switch which prevent artefacts ?

Althought it's clearly a driver bug, it can be interesting to find the root cause of the "solution"

AlicVB
