I thought there might be a way to export the data with exiftool and re-import it with exiv2 but I haven't found a way to do that. I haven't dealt with the exiv2 team so I don't know how likely you are to get help from them, and I don't know anything about different dng standards sorry.
Also I realised I replied that large file into the mailing list, I'm not sure if it's going to fill up people's inboxes because I think it's just a drive link but I'm sorry if I caused any problems guys.
