Thanks for response.  Have progressed somewhat:  It should only be included in
Ubuntu via inclusion in Debian upstream, but it is now too late (past feature
freeze) for inclusion in Ubuntu even if it was updated in Debian.  However one
person has emerged who is hoping to include in Ubuntu Studio Backports, and has
already received permission for an inclusion Exception for that.  So for now it
is just wait and see.
