Dear Jan,

Are there any plans to add additional NR algorithms like KREMY
(http://aggregate.org/DIT/KREMY/) to DT?

for incorporation into darktable, 3rd party components must be published as open source under a license that is compatible with the GPL (the license under which dt is published).

I am unable to find the source of the mentioned KREMY. The web page just states:

"Once the tweaks are settled, we will distribute KREMY's C code as full open source."

Thus, KREMY will not make it into dt soon.

Furthermore, the dt community should not just randomly pick any ml algorithm for de-noising. This is quite a hot research topic and every few days there is a paper that claims to have found a better method. See https://github.com/oneTaken/Awesome-Denoise for an incomplete list. Some comparison of various methods would bee needed.

        Regards,

        Heiko
