Nah, factor of 2 is too general. Because you can set the Retina to different scalings. I, for example, prefer one that gives me the same font sizes as on a 1920x1080 screen. I also have no idea what people are complaining about. DT's info.plist on OS X already has the resp. entry, so the OS takes care of scaling fonts in the UI. Yes, Icons simply lack the proper resultion but that's a minor thing.
