OK, problem solved! :) The CMakeLists.txt had BUILD_USERMANUAL set to OFF. Changing this to ON and removing the various build and cache directories resulted in the user manual being produced. Thanks for your help - much appreciated. BTW: Build systems are a major PITA and really are a black art. Does anyone really understand the "make" documentation?
