I think this is a crucial point. There are a lot of aspects around UI that imo will not permits a direct porting from pc to tablet: display resolution (actually dt i think has some problem with low res), UI widget dimension, ... > If we can get a successful post-processing and DAM app before Adobe, > we have a good chance to get a good share in the market. hum, probably I loose some steps.... are we "on the market"?! ;) I explained my point of view in the other thread. Just a consideration: if adobe will release a lightroom version for iOS/Android we will be exactly in the same situation of pc. I don't think an advantage regarding time-to-market in this case would be important. A LR user (in win/mac) will not use dt in android waiting lr (are not compatible!). I fear I don't see a future about match with adobe. > Learning the Android SDK, and identifying / porting libraries is > doable...... I don't know how musch the team needed to refactor the code. If you are interested you could contact the xbmc team and ask some information about their experience. Don't forget some (interesting) darktable feature I think will be hard to port in android virtual machine (opencl?)
