After a new build on my system I find that I need to individually reindex each of my folders so as to avoid dt memory shutdowns. This is an enormous job covering 12 years of my digital work.
Would it be possible to have dt do an independent background indexing of an entire collection without the necessity of displaying images? Just running something like "darktable -reindex ~/Pictures" possibly. Another thought it would be really convenient if the .db file was located along with the collection where it could be a part of the backup of the specific image set.
