nice :) darktable-0.1 was using magick to import images. i ditched it though in 0.2 (numbers might be off, i forget), because - i didn't need additional input formats (magick was importing my paper collection, pdf and postscript..). - since it supports like every possible format in the world, it was linking against a ton of stuff, causing trouble, example: postscript support was linking against their own version of png, which was thus pulled into our binary, so now we have at least two different versions of png with very similar function names.. this causes very subtle bugs and very hard to debug crashes. at some point we were discussing using `stream' and popen() to get data from magick without linking. that said, it's also possible that the chaotic situation has improved a lot since i last tried. it's probably worth double checking some ldd output though. cheers, jo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LogMeIn Rescue: Anywhere, Anytime Remote support for IT.
