This is a /very/ common use case for me. And I dare making an educated
guess that the same is true for many users for an app like DT. I say
educated because I think Adobe wouldn't have added this functionality
very early on to Lightroom (and when I still used LR, this was a very
common operation for me).
The easy solution is to just add another button to the 'history stack'
module, i.e. 'copy bits' and a rollout, 'bits', which lists all modules
and allows to select which ones 'copy bits' takes from the stack.

Creating a style for this is very annoying. Because afterwards, I need
to delete the style or my list of styles will soon be full of crap.
Imagine every time you want to copy and paste in a text editor, you need
to save the copied text to disk and you can not reuse the file name
("style with name tmp already exists"). Craptacular.
When batch editing images, copying parts of the history is one of the
most common tasks. It should be well supported.
