What a fascinating thought. I've used Scribus extensively at work and am
familar with its capabilities, in particular the "Export to PDF" function. I
will be curious to find out if embedding a printer paper profile into the PDF
from Scribus will "hold" when printed by Evince or Adobe Reader to the Epson
3800 with no additional color management.. Thank you for the idea!

Darrell; you might want to take a look at printing through Scribus. On
the surface it looks like overkill but it not only makes page layout
very simple but it does provide comprehensive colour management.
