I complained for the longest time over the file management system but have to say that now that I understand the system better the current offering is totally without equal. A superb job.
The directory structure is there if one needs it and so is every other imaginable structure. Certainly it has changed the way that I bring images to the screen and made me more cognoscente of cataloguing procedures but it is slick and very efficient. If there is are problems with the system it may lie in the lack of comprehensive documentation and users discomfort in changing old work habits. I have very cheerfully moved away from using the DEM of Digikam with its typical directory structure approach.
