I need a method to export a (large) number of images that can be used
directly in a slide-show; (no re-numbering) please.
Theoretically $(SLIDES) will at least set the output in 5 sections, but
that appears broken and $(DESKTOP)/TEST/$(STARS)_(FILE_NAME) puts out:
/home/david/Desktop/TEST/5_(FILE_NAME).jpg
/home/david/Desktop/TEST/5_(FILE_NAME)_01.jpg
/home/david/Desktop/TEST/5_(FILE_NAME)_02.jpg
/home/david/Desktop/TEST/5_(FILE_NAME)_03.jpg
When all the stars were different!!

What would be even more convenient would be if the 5 star ratings each
represented binary values that would allow either a 'simple' 5 point
rating or, in combinations, as a much more detailed grading for special
occasions.
