I use Darktable 1.2.2 and read http://www.darktable.org/usermanual/ch02s02s12.html.php. Pressing the New button does nothing. I cannot type into the box above New and there is no new text entry box opened up. The documentation page does not tell me what I should do before or after pressing New.
Ubuntu 13.04 with Gnome set to no effects. The problem is the same on my notebook screen and the big monster back at the office. I looked for hidden pop ups because some other applications do that and they are sometimes lost. Nothing. Some other things on the docs. The FAQ mentions no file management but there is a move option in http://www.darktable.org/usermanual/ch02s02s07.html.php. Perhaps a link to that. I tried to move/rename folders and found a way to add the renamed folder but not a way to delete the entry for the old name. Could the Selected image[s] box work at the folder level? Could page http://www.darktable.org/usermanual/ch02s02s07.html.php describe a process for moving folders? I could write the text/edit the page/add a child page if I find a clean way to perform that type of task.
