Sadly, my idea to properly translate Lightness to Clarté in French cannot be done as Lightness seems to be used not only for Lab L*. For example in blend_gui.c we have two blending mode:
"Lightness" "Lab Lightness" The second is "Clarté" in French but not the first. But "Lightness" is also used in other places for Lab L*. The only hope is that "Lightness" in blend_gui.c is wrongly named in English. Is that the case? Maybe the right term here is "Brightness"? Not sure...
