After trying a number of offered solutions to the problem (none of which
appeared to work) I have now found a simple solution.

The Problem: Mouse double-click fails to work on any of my 3 machines that are
using Open SUSE 13.1, with either the KDE or XFCE desktops. Double click does
work using the MATE desktop. Apparently when using KDE or XFCE with dt the
mouse double-click interval reverts to a default time of 200 ms, which is too
fast for my fingers.

The Solution: The following line inserted into 'darktable-gtkrc' solves the
problem. "gtk-double-click-time = 800" will set the interval time to 800 ms.
