hello, how about having the crop & rotate module / crop ratio set in the same orientation (portrait vs landscape) as the image? I guess it is reasonable to assume that image orientation after crop remains the same as originally shot - at least for majority of images.
Now it requires an extra step to always click the small rotate tool for images with portrait orientation. Also, all of the crop ratios are set as landscape (3:2, 4:3, ...), but 1:2 which is portrait.
